Write a step by step process on how to delete facebook account permanently
Here’s the current process to permanently delete your Facebook account. Facebook now generally routes deletion through Accounts Center.
On the Facebook app
-
Open the Facebook app and log in.
-
Tap the ☰ Menu button.
-
Tap Settings & privacy.
-
Tap Settings.
-
Open Accounts Center.
-
Tap Personal details.
-
Tap Account ownership and control.
-
Tap Deactivation or deletion.
-
Select your Facebook account/profile.
-
Choose Delete account — not Deactivate account.
-
Tap Continue.
-
Facebook may ask why you're deleting the account. Select an option or skip it.
-
Enter your Facebook password if requested.
-
Review the information and tap Delete account / Continue to account deletion.
-
Confirm the deletion.
Important before you confirm
Delete account is permanent; Deactivate is temporary.
Download any photos, posts, or other information you want to keep before deleting.
If you use Facebook Login to sign into other websites/apps, deleting Facebook can affect those logins.
Facebook provides a cancellation period after requesting deletion; don't log back into the account during that period if you want the deletion to proceed.
Some information may take additional time to be fully removed from backups and systems.
If the menu names are slightly different on your phone, the key path to look for is:
Settings → Accounts Center → Personal details → Account ownership and control → Deactivation or deletion → Delete account.
